Our Products
What is the difference between your 355mL Caesar Dressing & Dip and your 355mL Mighty Caesar Dressing & Dip?
The Renée’s Gourmet Mighty Caesar Dressing & Dip was developed in response to the huge demand by those consumers who can’t get enough garlic. It contains twice as much garlic as the regular Spoonable Caesar Dressing & Dip.

Are your products Kosher?
No, our products are not kosher. To make a kosher product, we would need to use only ingredients and equipment with kosher certification. It is difficult to find kosher-certified equivalents for some of the ingredients we use, while at the same time maintaining our top-quality taste standards. As well, ensuring that our equipment lines comply with kosher protocol is a complicated process, given our current manufacturing systems. However, we are exploring the possibility of obtaining kosher status and may offer kosher products in the future.

Plastic Packaging

Why are Renée’s products now in plastic?
Renée’s consumers asked and Renée’s listened. Plastic packaging was tested with Renée’s consumers who said they preferred plastic to glass because it was lightweight, recyclable, and less likely to break. It is also a more convenient format for those who want to take Renée’s to work or to a social gathering.

Plastic packaging helps Renée’s adhere to a greener approach to business. Plastic weighs less than glass, so that means we use less fuel to transport our products.

What kind of plastic are you using in Renée's packaging?
All Renée’s packaging is made with polypropylene plastic. It is BPA-free and recyclable.

Is your packaging recyclable?
Yes. Our polypropylene BPA-free plastic packaging is recyclable.

Note: The clear safety seal on the dips is not recyclable and should be discarded in your regular garbage when you first open the package.

Renée’s single serve dressing pouches are not recyclable.

How do I recycle it?
First, rinse out the container once you are finished with the product. Second, put the cap back on and place the entire container in the recycling bin.

The clear safety seal on the dips is not recyclable and should be discarded in your regular garbage when you first open the package.

Freshness/Storage

Do I have to refrigerate Renée’s Gourmet products even before opening them?
Yes, they must be refrigerated at all times. Since our products contain fresh, natural ingredients, it is very important that they always be refrigerated and not left out for a length of time.

I wasn’t aware that the Renée’s Gourmet product I bought needed refrigeration at all times, and I didn’t put it in the refrigerator when I got home from the supermarket. Can I still use it?
No, the product is not good to use. As it is a fresh product, it should be treated like a dairy product and kept refrigerated at all times.

How long can I keep a Renée’s Gourmet product out of the refrigerator?
They should be left unrefrigerated for as little time as possible, just like dairy products.

How do I read the ‘best-before’ date, as I am not sure that this product is still good?
The ‘best-before’ date on our products is the date by which we recommend you open the product, in order to experience its intended quality. Prior to being opened, the product should be kept refrigerated. Once a container is opened, the product should be used up within a fairly short period of time. Normally, once opened, if the product is handled hygienically and stored at a typical refrigeration temperature of 2-4 degrees Celsius, it can be kept for a few weeks.

Where can I find the ‘best-before’ date on the product packaging?
Every Renée's product has a Best-Before Date on the package.

For Renée's Dressings and Sauces, the Best-Before Date is located in a white box on the back of the bottle (above the Nutrition Facts).

For Renée’s Gourmet Dips, the Best-Before Date is located below the rim of the dip container (not on the lid).

How long can I keep Renée’s Gourmet products in the refrigerator once opened?
Once the product is opened, you must use it in 2-3 weeks.

Ingredient Information

Are all of Renée’s products Peanut-free?
Yes, all of Renée's products are peanut-free and made in a peanut-free facility.

Are any of Renée’s products dairy-free? How about gluten-free?

Is canola oil good for you?
Yes. Among other edible oils, Canola Oil has been found to have a healthy nutritional profile: it comes from a plant source and contains no Cholesterol and virtually no Trans Fatty Acid; it has the lowest saturated fat level of any vegetable oil; and it has the second highest monounsaturated fat level of any vegetable oil, after olive oil (saturated fatty acids and trans fatty acids are known to contribute to the risk of heart disease). As such, canola oil meets the requirements for inclusion in a diet low in saturated and trans fats.

There have been concerns over the biogenetic modification of the Canola plant over the years. Canadian plant-breeding programs, combined with changes in processing techniques, led to a reduction of erucic acid, which was formally found in the plants. The removal of this potentially harmful acid from the plants has made canola oil safer and increased its overall benefits. For more detailed information on canola oil, please visit www.canola-council.org.

Can you use olive oil in your products instead of canola oil?
Unfortunately, we can only use minimal amounts of olive oil in our dressings. When used in a vinaigrette or sauce, olive oil can solidify upon refrigeration, and the dressing would no longer be pourable; when used in a creamy spoonable dressing, it can alter the texture and stability of the product.

Is the oil you use in your products hydrogenated?
No, none of the Renée’s Gourmet products contain any hydrogenated oils.

Are all the cheese, eggs and egg products in your dressings pasteurized?
Yes all cheese, eggs and egg products (egg white, egg yolk) used as ingredients in our dressings, sauces, marinades and dips are pasteurized.

Are there any Renée’s Gourmet products that will fit into my low-carb diet?
Yes, most Renée’s Gourmet products are low in carbohydrates. For a detailed nutrition facts list of products containing less than 1, 2 or 3g of carbohydrates per serving, click here.

I am in the US and can’t find your products at the supermarket. Can you help?
At present, Renée’s Gourmet products are not available in US stores.

I can’t seem to find my favourite Renée’s dressing on shelf– help!
With over 30 unique varieties all requiring refrigeration, stores don’t always have enough space on shelf to carry the full Renée’s line-up. Try asking your produce manager if it is normally available at your store or email us at cservice@renees.com and we would be happy to tell you which stores in your area carry your favourites.

I can’t find Renée’s Gourmet Sauces at my grocery store – where can I find them?
Our cooking sauces are sometimes more difficult to find as they are not kept with the other Renée’s products but in the Meat department. Try checking around the fresh meat counters or packaged deli meats section. If they aren’t carried in your store email us at cservice@renees.com and we would be happy to tell you which stores in your area carry them.

Cooking/Usage Tips
How long should I marinate meat in the Sauces before cooking it?
Marinating time should be based on personal flavour preference: the more flavourful you prefer the meat; the longer it should be marinated. For maximum flavour and taste, marinate the meat overnight, especially if using one of the thicker sauces (such as Sesame Ginger Teriyaki). If you like less flavour or are strapped for time, the minimum marinating time is between 30 minutes and one hour. Remember that you must marinate the meats in the refrigerator when using our fresh sauces. Also make sure to discard marinade once used, to avoid cross-contamination.
