• The terms "Big Wheel" and "Big Cheese" originally referred to those who were wealthy enough to purchase a whole wheel of cheese.

• If you spill something on your rug, do not attempt to mop it up. Pour a large mound of ordinary table salt on the spill, and let it sit overnight. The salt will draw up the liquid, and the stain.

• Put folded paper towel in bottom of a salad bowl. Add veggies and greens. Just before serving remove towel. Your salad will be snapping crisp and the lettuce will never be limp. This is great for carrying a salad to work.

• To clean the inside of a microwave the easy way: Place a microwave safe dish or glass half full of water. Place on high for several minutes until the water is boiling and steam gathers on the edges of microwave. Wait a few minutes and wipe the microwave with paper towels.

• Eggs will age more in one day at room temperature than in one week in the refrigerator.
